Hi everyone! They attacked me a question about the movie The Town! Please note that those who have not seen the movie entry on this topic at your risk!We engage your imagination and have fun talking about the role of Jeremy in The Town. Everyone can come up with any idea, it's up to you. I hope you like it. So I start with a couple of questions for discussion:1.Jeremy Best scene in the movie? 2.If Jem not died (our Jeremy) What would you have devised for him to end? 3.How do you assess friendship of Jem (Jeremy) and Doug (Ben Affleck)? 4.How do you imagine deleted scenes with Jeremy? I start with my answer:1.So it will be very difficult. I think I could give them all, but still a choice: Clash + Conversation with Doug at the cemetery. 2.I wish my successful escape from the money, of course. ;)He took the child with his sister and has developed a new and better life. 3.Jem and Doug friendship seemed one-sided.I mean for Jem.It seemed to me that Doug was it selfish. Jem he was really loyal friend. He never said no and went with him anywhere and do anything. It's just that for his protection was nine years in prison! 4.An idea of the deleted scenes have much. :)I liked the memory of their childhood and younger age periods.Would be too good a flashback from prison. Larger scenes of family gatherings in the grill. It occurs to me that a lot, so I'll wait for your response.

So, a month later, but i feel like talking about Jem because he's awesome! 1. For me, the best scene was the whole 'let's go beat some random guys' scene because it showed how crazy and unpredictable Jem was, and at the same time what a loyal friend he was. And the scene were he dies is just crazy. I mean, who gets shot in the face? Twice?! 2. I think he would've stayed in Charlestown... I don't think he wants to change. Jem didn't know anything else but robbing banks and being bad. I think he would've just found new friends to do the robberies. But he would've continued to take care of his sister, at least with money and stuff. 3. I think Doug was ready to move on in is life, and that Jem was afraid to lose his best friend. He didn't want things to change, because Doug was such a huge part of his life. I think that Doug truly loved Jem, but he represented everything he wanted to get away from. 4. And i've been obsessed with the fact that Jem didn't do anything particular exept from pregnant dog when he discovered the fact that Doug wanted to change for a girl. Maybe Jem knew what it was like? And more scenes from when he killed someone for Doug. And how they became friends. And Doug being sad that he saw his best friend die. And Jem being Jesus and resucitating

Hi kimby, thank you for your reply. (1.)The scene you chose is also good. For that he could make the sentence: Whose car we takin '? (Where is Jem help Doug). Where the reason he is not interested, and thereby demonstrates his amazing crazy and faithful friend. Death scene was really mad. Death, it was really terrible! (2.)Yes, you are right he would definitely remain in Charlestown. Good point. It was just my wish, when he did not death. I know that he was reconciled with his life and nothing else would not do. Rob the bank, it was really his life! It would certainly be trying to help out his sister, prose emphasizing the family. But I think it would be difficult for him to find new friends (buddy) on the robbery. (3.)Yes, I understand that Doug wanted to change his life. Opted for a different lifestyle. I'm sure Doug was like Jem too, but I think that could do more. (But that's just my opinion. Of course I respect yours and thank you for it.) I mean, Jem he was really loyal friend. He did a lot for him, so I understand that Doug constrain. But I think it would be a bit of conscience to weigh. (Hand on heart, Doug!). (4.)Yeah, extended scene where Jem had a guy shoot the other side for Doug would be interesting. And deepen their friendship as well

I feel like the Doug/Jem relationship should've taken more space in the plot, because it's far more complex and deep than the Doug/Claire one! They seem so different, it makes me wonder what brought them together in the first place. I can really imagine little Doug being sad about his mother leaving and Jem taking care of him, but it seemed in the movie that Doug was the leader and the one that looked after Jem, trying to keep him out of trouble. The prison stay must've really changed things between them.
On an other note, I just love how Jeremy can really be unrecognisable movie to movie. When I think about The Town, I don't think about Jeremy playing Jem, I just think about Jem. And his Boston accent ! I need to buy this movie just to be able to use the subtitles XD I didn't catch half of what they were saying!

I read the book and there is no clear point. Why Jem night went to Claire? In the film, it was not. In the book, Jem, too, was in jail because of Doug? I too think that it would be not bad to develop relations Doug and Jam

kimby:Yeah, definitely was a relationship Jem / Doug deepened.Their relationship might have a higher resolution. Indeed the relationship more complex than monoh Doug and Claire, properly speaking. I think that since they should not be divided forever (Jem/Doug). Although Doug managed to change my life.I think that the years spent together and lifestyle in Charlestown is not clear.(can not be erased).I understand that Doug had trouble on the mother and the failure of his career hurt.Yes, Doug was a leader who tried to keep everything easily. The hot head like Jem's not easy, but their connection was relentless. I totally agree, that Jem prison changed. This has changed their entire relationship. Jem has had a different view, which did not change!Yeah, Jeremy Boston accent was perfect! I also did not understand him, but its authenticity was fantastic! His acting talent is increasingly widening. I read that he was in contact with the toll ex-convicts, who helped him a lot. He considers it the best that could be used for the film. Absolutely merged with the crowd! I can not wait for the extended version on DVD!
marisha: I also think that developing a relationship Jem / Doug would be good! I do not know why the book version of Jem is at night with Claire. But, perhaps to finalize it. ;)Do you think Claire's going to scare you or talk to her? That would make me really wonder!
